        <p>Software Asset Management (SAM) system is a set of measures aimed at optimizing the acquisition, deployment, use and maintenance of software assets in organizations. Software asset management processes require not only a competent management system, but also support from IT services. This paper presents a way to define the SAM application architecture using a client-oriented approach. Terminological analysis was carried out, software management process was modeled, requirements for the application were compiled and the corresponding functionality of its modules was determined.</p>
